Litters

The first weeks

In my kennel, raising puppies begins in the very first moments after birth. I look after the living conditions of the dam and the litter, keeping everything clean and at the right temperature, providing constant care and staying in touch with an experienced veterinarian throughout. The puppies are checked regularly for health, weight gain and correct development.

Socialisation

In the following weeks the puppies go through a process of socialisation. We begin with sensory stimulation. Later they meet a variety of stimuli — household sounds, new objects, different surfaces and contact with children. This teaches them confidence and makes it easier for them to adapt to life in their new homes.

Prospective owners receive an e-mail from me once a week with current photographs and news of how the puppies are developing.

Matching a puppy to a home

Matching a puppy to its future owner is not left to chance. Over the first weeks I observe the temperament and predispositions of each puppy. When the puppies are around five weeks old, I ask all prospective owners to describe their expectations, their experience with dogs, the conditions they can offer a puppy, their household and their plans for its future. On the basis of that information and of my observations of the puppies over the next two weeks, I match each one to the home where it will be able to develop its full potential and live a happy life.

Paperwork and puppy pack

Before leaving the kennel, the puppies are properly wormed, vaccinated in line with the veterinarian’s recommendations and identified with a microchip. Each of them also goes through the litter inspection carried out by the Polish Kennel Club committee, which assesses its state of health and conformity to the breed standard. The puppies receive a ZKwP birth certificate, a health record book and a puppy pack.
